The earth according to the Bible, but also in reality, is a round flat disk that stands on pillars. The North Pole is on the center of the Earth. On satellite photos you can see a hole in the North. Many believe it’s the bottomless pit and I believe this too. About the North Pole I will explain more under the heading North Pole. There is a lot to tell about.
The South Pole is not a continent but surrounds the whole earth. In reality, the South Pole is called Antartica and they still use the name Antartica Circle. According to Wikipedia, this is about a certain part of the South Pole (a location). But when we read old books and sift through history, the Antarctic circle had a very different meaning. It is the circle that encircles the whole earth and holds the seas in the center.
‘He hath compassed the waters with bounds, Until the day and night come to an end. ‘ Job 26:10
‘When he prepared the heavens, I was there: When he set a compass upon the face of the depth: When he established the clouds above: When he strengthened the fountains of the deep: When he gave to the sea his decree, That the waters should not pass his commandment: When he appointed the foundations of the earth: ‘ Proverbs 8:27-29
Would David talk or would Jesus talk? Would Jesus lie? How can water be flat on a convex Earth? Don’t people use a spirit leveler because water always finds its line and is 100 percent reliable?
Many who hear about flat earth are worried they won’t fall off. Don’t worry, God has provided everything perfectly. The waters and the earth are IN the Antarctic circle. I’m more concerned about a round Earth spinning into space at high a speed. Couldn’t you fall off there? Yet we do not notice this, even a blade of grass does not respond. The countries and continents are around the North Pole and it doesn’t really look different from the maps of round earth. I believe the concept of round earth is based on the true concept of the flat earth… On a flat earth map that pilots use to navigate, the North Pole is centered and the South Pole (Antartica) surrounds the entire Earth plain. This one is under the ice but that wasn’t always the case. They have discovered traces of life and sometimes NASA publishes this. On old maps you can see that Antarctica was green and inhabited.
Upon the earth stands a dome what God calls heaven:
‘And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. ‘ Genesis 1:6-8
Can you spot the difference in the most modern translation? Do you understand why I am angry about the negligence in the modern translations that differ greatly from the original Word of God? Especially in Dutch…
‘Then God said, ‘A wide space will appear between the waters. So the waters will separate into two places.’ So God made a wide space. He separated the water under the space from the water that was above it. And what God said happened. God called the wide space ‘sky’. Evening passed and then it was morning. That was the second day. God said, ‘The water that is under the sky will come together in one place. Then dry ground will appear.’ And what God said happened. God called the dry ground ‘land’. He called the water that had come together ‘sea’. God looked at what he had made. He saw that it was good. ‘ Genesis 1:6-10 (EASY)
There is a theory that there was a dome before the flood, but if you consult the Bible you will read there is still a dome above our heads. If God opened the floodgates before the flood and later speaks of the future and opens the floodgates again, is there still a dome?
‘And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake. The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again. ‘ Isaiah 24:18-20
The following verses say enough. When god closed the flood holes, is there still a dome? Does the firmament have to break when there are locks ?
‘And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged; the fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained; ‘ Genesis 8:1-2
The well-known theory that was used to some firmament comes from Kent Hovind. He had made well-founded series, but he was not right about everything. It is good to be critical and read the Word of God for yourself. I encourage you. God clearly says that the firmament calls heaven and that there are waters above and below the firmament. And the waters under the firmament are called seas. If we consult more Bible texts, you have already heard that before the throne of God is a sea of fire and water that is like a glass floor:
‘And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God. And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. ‘ Revelation 15:1-3
‘And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. ‘ Revelation 4:6
According to Genesis, the firmament is called heaven. Job also tells about this:
‘Hast thou with him spread out the sky, Which is strong, and as a molten looking glass? ‘ Job 37:18
‘Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together. ‘ Isaiah 48:13
Note the word “stretched”. If you were to reduce this word then you think of a tension and a tension is something that is tight. The firmament has different names in our translations: dome, expanse, vault,…
‘And the likeness of the firmament upon the heads of the living creature was as the colour of the terrible crystal, stretched forth over their heads above. And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the other: every one had two, which covered on this side, and every one had two, which covered on that side, their bodies. And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings. And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had let down their wings. And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it. ‘ Ezekiel 1:22-26
This is my favorite chapter because it indicates that God lives above our heads. For hath not God said that he gathereth us like chicks under his wings?
‘ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! ‘ Matthew 23:37
Isn’t the temple of Solomon a shadow type of God’s house in Heaven?
‘Also he made a molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim, round in compass, and five cubits the height thereof; and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about. And under it was the similitude of oxen, which did compass it round about: ten in a cubit, compassing the sea round about. Two rows of oxen were cast, when it was cast. ‘ 2 Chronicles 4:2-3
The earth (land on which we live) is a plain that is fixed on pillars/foundations:
‘Which shaketh the earth out of her place, And the pillars thereof tremble. ‘ Job 9:6
‘The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah. ‘ Psalm 75:3
‘ Who laid the foundations of the earth, That it should not be removed for ever. ‘ Psalm 104:5
‘Then the earth shook and trembled; The foundations of heaven moved And shook, because he was wroth. ‘ 2 Samuel 22:8
‘And the channels of the sea appeared, The foundations of the world were discovered, At the rebuking of the LORD , At the blast of the breath of his nostrils. ‘ 2 Samuel 22:16
And this one also has a foundation stone:
‘Who is this that darkeneth counsel By words without knowledge? Gird up now thy loins like a man; For I will demand of thee, and answer thou me. Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? Or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? Or who laid the corner stone thereof; ‘ Job 38:2-6
Can you stretched the line on a convex earth?
This is God speaking directly to Job. I often hear that all those Bible verses describing flat earth are poetic. It’s not just the verses in poetic books that describe the Earth as being flat. I’m going to ask you a question. If you want to describe something to someone and use imagery, would you talk about non-existent things that no one has ever seen? How then can they understand and imagine? Didn’t Jesus use imagery to convey things to people who could neither see nor hear? Doesn’t God say that every Word that comes out of his mouth is true and refutable? Does not God say He IS the Word. Why would He speak lies?
‘All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: ‘ 2 Timothy 3:16
‘And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. ‘ Revelation 19:11-13
‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. ‘ John 1:1-5
Doesn’t the Bible say the earth has endings? How can you determine these endings on a spherical earth? You can draw a cross on a round disc. There is also a discussion going on among flat earth believers. Some believe that the Earth is a square. Me too. But I believe the corners are BEHIND the dome and we don’t see them.
‘And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. ‘ Revelation 7:1
‘And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, and shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. ‘ Revelation 20:7-8
A deeper insight: ‘and saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth: ‘ Acts 10:11
‘God shall bless us; And all the ends of the earth shall fear him.’ Psalm 67:7
‘For he looketh to the ends of the earth, And seeth under the whole heaven; ‘ Job 28:24
‘He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, And from the river unto the ends of the earth. ‘ Psalm 72:8
‘But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, Their sound went into all the earth, And their words unto the ends of the world. ‘ Romans 10:18
‘Thou whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof, and said unto thee, Thou art my servant; I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away. ‘ Isaiah 41:9
Not all Bible texts are attached to this. You can consult these yourself and there are more than 200 Bible texts that refer to flat earth. If you investigate this deeply and also reduce words to Hebrew, you come to the conclusion: the earth is a plain. The Hebrew language is difficult to translate literally. Their grammar is not the same as other languages. They have their own grammar in which words are also numbers and there is much more in a word than we can translate. That’s why it’s always good to check in Hebrew when you can’t understand something. Nowadays you can use translation machines and there are all kinds of websites they can translate words in Hebrew.
